Apparently he just disappeared from training one day and turned up in the south of France! Nice paid £50,000 for him, but as I've said it was none-sensical that a top level club would take him - Shrewsbury are in the English 4th tier. It almost seemed, speculating though this is, as though some deal was put together by a agent or someone to serve somebody's purpose, even though it was obvious he would never be useful in a football sense. The fact he's just gone off the radar since would allude to something fishy happening - if he was back in England there are certaintly teams at Shrewsbury's level that would be interested, despite what was reported as a "shocking and unprofessional" attitude.
