Giant, Honking, Epic News Ahead of the Derby
By: Martha | October 17th, 2008No proper preview, because I’m traveling yet again and don’t have the proper internet window to write it (or even watch the match until it’s long-over, dammit). Instead, I offer you this:
Effectif 17 octobre 2008 à 13h17Ospina titulaire face à Monaco
Le jeune gardien colombien David Ospina vivra sa première rencontre de Ligue 1 demain au Stade Louis II pour le derby.
Victime depuis le week-end dernier d’une contracture au mollet Lionel Letizi ne pourra en effet tenir sa place.
I’m sure he’s played before much bigger crowds before, in much bigger matches, but none of those matches were his first league appearance for his new team, nor were they his first chance to live up to the faith supporters have in his ability — supporters most of whom have never even seen him play.
Welcome to Nice, kiddo. Please, if it’s not too much trouble, don’t let us down.

CONGRATS MAN! (To him, that is)I usually don’t like #1 keepers injured, but heck, if Bordeaux had such a promising #2, I’d tell Ramé to be injured all the time. (Ulrich, I mean no ill..)

you can’t have an easier introduction to Ligue 1 than facing ASM’s attack…

But, Richard, what about Jozy? JOZY!
I’m so nervous for him, Jennifer — I’m glad I won’t be around during the match, so at least I can avoid the stress …

eh? Jozy Altidore plays for Villarreal. if you meant Freddy Adu, he can’t get a game at Monaco. if he does play, he comes on for the last 10 minutes and does nothing.

I am (hence the traveling and the crappy lack of posting), though I’m on my way home in a fews hours …
I won’t see the match until the official site gets it up, but then only goal was a PK, and the supporters are all fired up about he played (but they love him anyway, so it’s hard to know for sure).
Oh, fair play. Oops. I’m not sure it’s mathematically possible, but I suspect half those cards are Rool’s …

I think once you get the fans’ support you’re good, right?
Oh yeah, Jesus painting was in the UK, I forgot about that *Facepalms*
I suspect that too, he’s pretty high up on that other chart too..
