I don’t think they’re upset about the goals counting, they don’t think the free kicks should have been given. Though if Piquionne was involved in the play and offside, even if he didn’t touch it, shouldn’t the goal be ruled out? If he’s making a run for the ball, it’s going to affect Letizi ….

(Martha, I was just looking at the ESPN report:

The referee awarded the goal although the linesman raised his flag indicating Lyon striker Frederic Piquionne was offside.

That was the second goal where I thought SIDNEY kicked it when he was offside. I guess from attributing the goal to Juni that Piquionne didn’t actually make contact with the ball.)

Juni’s goals looked pretty legit, even the second one. But it’s just the last penalty, giving the circumstance of that time.

Looking through the forums, the Nice supporters are unhappy about the calls on all three goals, but I supposes that’s natural. The Rool foul that let to one of the FKs looked legit to me, I can’t remember the other — will have to wait to download.

From what I could tell on my shitty stream, Inara, the most that happened is that is nicked his arm, but his arm was in on his body — it didn’t affect the flight of the ball at all and was ball-to-arm, if it touched him (which is hard to tell).

It’s a shitty feeling to win or lose that way, imho — Inter came back from 0-2 down against Parma to win 3-2 in injury time sort of like that (but even more questionably) last season, and I felt sick with guilt for 24 hours.

It’s really unfortunate about the last minute penalty. Was it really a handball? I didn’t get to see the match at all so I have no idea.

Yeah, there was nothing. All I’m saying is that if that call had gone against anyone Inter or Juve was playing at home and they won it on a gift PK, everyone would be going apeshit about a fix.
